Ancillary 2: Promo Poster FINAL
This is the finished promotional poster for my second ancillary task. The poster is in a fairly minimalistiv style as this allows it to focus on the beauty of the image. The apple is a clear symbolic link to the construction as it has a fluent fairytale theme running throughout.

construction update
\Hgcdom01jstudentIJohnstonDocumentsLaura Isla and Beth from Isla Johnston on Vimeo.
we have been able tro go furthur with our constuction and this is the product so far, as it is clear the engagement scene, goldilocks scene and wolf scene have been added. Although the wolf scene is different from the original 'flicker' effect we were hoping for, I feel the overlay effect is more effective and was easier to use. the overlay effect shows that the 'big bad wolf' does infact live within abbie as her human silhouette is still visable as she walks.

Week Update: week beginning the 13th
This week we plan to film teh performance scene with a new performer due to calcellations beyond our control and a problem with our previous performaer we also couldnt control. Instead we have decided to use Rebecca, as she features in the project as 'goldilocks' and so it is easy to make a link between the performer and the narrative. we intend to film the performance scene using atight spotlight on a stage so it will have a dramatic effect to it whioch will fit the tone of the music.

Performance Scene - dilemma
Unfortunately, we have been forced to reshoot the performance scene. Abbie, the initial performer had to leave the filming process of the video due to personal reasons. fortunately we had finished filming the narrative aspect of the video. Instead we have decided to ask Rebecca Graham (the actress playing Goldilocks). This seemed to be the most obvious decision as she already featured in the narrative of the video and therefore there would still be some correlation between the narrative and the performance. Rebecca is also a confident performer and I have no doubt she will enjoy the performance.

Construction so far
D:Laura Isla and Beth from Isla Johnston on Vimeo.
this is how far along we are with the constuction of our practical task. Although not in order it is beginning to take some shape. I feel the red riding hood scene after reshooting it is a lot more effective and flows better as the shot is shorter and the main focus quickly pans to Abbie and Jordan.
One area which I feel needs more attentions the transitions during the drinking scene. I feel they aren't elongated enough as this will be a more subtle approach.

Schedule - this week
This week we plan to film the pwrformance scene for the video on Thursday and to finish off the filming in town and reshoot the town Little Red Riding hood scene in town as we realised that the rushes we currently have do not fit the tone, and are difficult to edit togather with the clips being so long.

Reflection On My Blog So Far
I have had a peer look at my blog for general feedback so far. the feeback showed that I have a variety of entries, in a multi media format. feedback also showed that my research was satisfactory however. I feel still more is needed for it to be complete.
One thing that was picked out was there is a lack of video feedback with our target audience. I will need to select a particular target audience and reseach into this furthur.

Ancillary Analysis
This is the cover of Paramore's RIOT! the first thing to notice about the cover of the album is the sketchbook like feel to it, which reflect the music and the name of the album. The cover is all black and white, with very little colour.

Filming - Waking up scene.
we have filmed the waking up scene which was set in town. Although we did have an idea in mind of where we were intending to film, we were able to be flexivble with our desicsions on where we filmed., in the end we decided to film outside the Old George pub in the centre on Newcastle, this was because it had the correct feel for what we were aiming to achive. On the day, the floor was wet we had to improvise and use a towel for the actor to sit on in the doorway, otherwise the white dress would have been spoiled and very difficult to use for the rest shoot.
we managed to get a the full scene filmed in one morning as it only took until about 11am, we filmed a total of of 5 scenes within the scene and toon on average about 4 shots of weach scene. This will simply mean that post production will be easier for me as I will have a choce of shots to edit together, enabling for a better quality product.
